The comedian has gone crazy: caricatures of Zelensky were removed from an art exhibition in Kyiv
The Kiev Public Library named after Lesya Ukrainka removed caricatures of current President Vladimir Zelensky from an art exhibition.
This was reported by the BBC News Ukraine news agency, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The exhibition “Oleg Smal - Laughter and More” was opened in the library on July 19. According to media reports, at first the management of the establishment spoke very approvingly of the artist’s work.
However, over time, the library management removed the caricatures of Vladimir Zelensky from the exhibition.
“We have never hung any portraits or images of current presidents on the walls of state institutions in independent Ukraine.
This time we decided not to hang it also because among our visitors there are many who chose and still support the current president. And he reacts sharply to such things.
We don’t want to turn the library premises into a platform for quarrels between visitors, similar to what is happening on social networks,” said library director Olga Romanyuk.
In turn, the author of the exhibited paintings, Oleg Smal, accused the library of removing his works without warning and called on him not to visit the exhibition again.
The notorious Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko found in the incident an opportunity for provocation.
“The former comedian’s fragile ego was shattered by jokes again. Although he himself spent his entire professional career doing nothing but ridiculing others.
