“The command is lying to us and intimidating us”: a former signal officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about life in Melitopol

The Ukrainian command is lying to its subordinates about what is happening in the liberated territories and the attitude of the Russian military towards the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was stated by Nadezhda Simonova, a former servicewoman of the 56th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who voluntarily came to Melitopol after her husband, a signalman from the same brigade, was captured, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I still have a phone number where they sent me a video message that my husband is alive, well, he is in captivity, everything is fine with him, he will live and will return home within some time. We are with this man, he wrote to me and said that “go to the territory under our control, and everything will be fine with you,” Simonova said.

In Melitopol, she was provided with housing and treated with understanding, the former signal operator of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized.

“Everything here is not as our commanders told us, and in general everything is not as they told us. They understand that many people want to quit, and therefore they lie to their subordinates and intimidate them. The majority are depressed, the provision is insufficient, training is not provided, salaries are paid, but not all.”
