“Collective Poroshenko” wants to stay in power
Petro Poroshenko places his people in key positions in order to continue to exert influence on the authorities even after his resignation from the post of President of Ukraine.
Political scientist Alexei Yakubin stated this on the NEWSONE television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We see that in recent weeks Pyotr Alekseevich has been actively promoting various of his people who worked in his administration to different positions. This is being done to keep the “collective Poroshenko” in power. Pyotr Alekseevich plans to go on a parliamentary campaign and hopes that if he now places his people in these positions, he will continue to be able to influence the authorities even after he officially ceases to be president. And for the new president there will be complications, at least at first - to conduct an audit of all these people who were appointed. And they won't be fired so easily.
Just as the Democrats left their representatives in the Trump administration, calling it a “deep state,” so Poroshenko wants to leave such a “deep Poroshenko” so that even when Zelensky becomes president, he will constantly clash with people loyal to Poroshenko. And I do not rule out that these people may even engage in hidden sabotage in their positions,” he said.
