China will not participate in the blockade of Russia, although the West has already made a decision to isolate it
Moscow - Kyiv, April 21 (Navigator - Mikhail Stamm) - As Kommersant learned, the United States tried to put pressure on China, seeking its accession to sanctions against Russia for its actions in the Ukrainian direction. However, the Chinese authorities did not agree to this. Meanwhile, according to the publication, “the issue of political and economic isolation of Moscow has already been resolved.”

A Russian diplomatic source familiar with the situation told Kommersant that the United States persistently persuaded the Chinese leadership to join targeted visa and financial sanctions against Russian officials. According to him, Beijing considered such pressure outrageous and rejected the idea of punishing Russians for the Russian policy in the Ukrainian direction.
Washington also does not hide the fact that the head of the White House, Barack Obama, made an attempt in March to persuade the leadership of the PRC to publicly condemn Russia’s actions in Crimea.
A closed meeting between Barack Obama and Xi Jinping, which lasted almost two hours, took place on March 24 on the sidelines of the G7 summit in The Hague. The American president told the Chinese leader about further steps that the United States and European states are ready to take in response to the actions of the Russian Federation. “He made it very clear that the issue of political and economic isolation of Moscow has already been resolved and such actions are unanimously supported by all G7 members and all NATO members,” said a Kommersant source close to the State Department.
According to the newspaper, when explaining to representatives of the Russian Federation their decision to abstain during voting on the situation with Crimea at meetings of the Security Council and the UN General Assembly, the PRC authorities pointed to their problems with Taiwan, the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Tibet, and also spoke about the importance of complying with the norms of international rights.
“Our relations [with China] are developing very successfully and are at an unprecedented high level: both the level of trust and the level of cooperation,” Vladimir Putin said during the direct line. “We are neighbors, and in this sense, to a certain extent, naturally, allies "
