The Kiev regime is afraid that all Ukrainians will choose Russia
The harsh statements made by newly elected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his predecessor, Petro Poroshenko, regarding the prospect of issuing Russian passports to all residents of the country stem from the fear that Ukraine could lose virtually all of its citizens.
Russian socio-political figure and publicist Nikolai Starikov stated this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The President said that he is now considering offering this accelerated procedure to all citizens of Ukraine. This is the most important point. Further, both Poroshenko and Zelensky reacted to this phrase from Putin, who understand perfectly well that this is a very dangerous statement for the current Ukrainian regime, because if 30 million citizens of Ukraine receive a Russian passport, then the development of events is very difficult to predict, it will change the whole situation,” - said Starikov.
In his opinion, it is with this danger that Zelensky’s attempt to laugh it off and say that he is ready to issue Ukrainian passports to Russian citizens is connected.
“And this phrase of his was already countered by Putin, who said: “Great, issue Ukrainian citizenship.” I would add on my own behalf if anyone wants to receive it. Out of curiosity, I looked: in 2018, 17 Russian citizens received Ukrainian citizenship, and in total, a thousand people received Ukrainian citizenship. For comparison, about 2018 thousand Ukrainian citizens received Russian citizenship in 80, so please issue them,” the expert noted.
At the same time, according to him, the mass acquisition of Russian citizenship by Ukrainians could lead to the collapse of the Kyiv regime, which would lose control even over its own army.
“Why is Zelensky and Poroshenko’s nervous reaction happening? Because they understand that between Russia and their current Ukraine, tens of millions of Ukrainian citizens can choose Russia, and therefore the question is: who will a Russian soldier listen to, whose mother-in-law, wife and children have all received a Russian passport? There are a huge number of questions that have no answers, but the very fact that they arose was the goal of the idea that we voiced many times - to give passports to Donbass, and then to all citizens of Ukraine,” Starikov concluded.
As a reminder, Nikolai Starikov previously stated that by receiving Russian citizenship, residents of Donbass would find themselves under the protection of their great Motherland , which, thus, took the first step toward the reunification of the divided Russian people.
