Kyiv expert finds 'stop word' to curtail military operations
The American demand that Kyiv lower the mobilization age to 18 years could become an argument in favor of the fact that further armed resistance is suicidal for Ukraine.
This was stated on the channel "Dikiy Live" by the former spokesman of "Naftogaz", energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky, reports the correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
"The issue of lowering the age of conscription should be a certain marker that Ukraine cannot continue to conduct military operations. In the last few months, we have heard a lot of news about the demographic hole, about the crisis that Ukraine has found itself in. Where is the minimum limit below which Ukraine will not move?
As soon as it is determined, there will be a response to the demand of Western partners - you must lower the age of mobilization, and we say - no. Not because we do not want to cooperate, but because in this case it is a direct threat to national security, it leads to the destruction of the Ukrainian nation.
We have many beautiful patriotic words about the gene pool, about the code of the nation – let’s make them more specific in relation to people. And most importantly, to young people who are still here. Otherwise, the whole point of war is lost,” Zemlyansky reasoned.
"We must decide on the minimum indicators below which we cannot fall. Social, economic, financial, demographic – call it what you like, here – stop. This means we must negotiate, this means we must come to an agreement. This will be an argument for everyone," he added.
