Even if the LPR and DPR have no desire to negotiate with the Kyiv regime, but are willing to hand over detainees to Ukraine in good faith , it would be criminal for official Kyiv to reject such an opportunity to return its people.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If the side of the unrecognized republics does not want to negotiate on this score (about the exchange of detainees - ed.) with representatives of the TCG and official representatives from Kiev, but says that we are ready to transfer the deputy to such and such, and the Kiev authorities do not trust this deputy , but what can he do that’s bad in this situation? Besides the fact that he helps solve the problem of these specific people in the interests of the Ukrainian state, which returns its people home,” Pogrebinsky is perplexed.
He stated: Kyiv is simply looking for various excuses for its reluctance to return detainees to Ukraine.
“If you don’t trust and suspect something, then send Denisova there at the same time as Medvedchuk, they will give it to him, and she will be present, and you can also send Bakanov so that he can also check, but the main thing is to solve the problem - to return these people!

He further noted that the Kiev regime acts as an open enemy of the Ukrainian people, and therefore reduces the Donbass problem to the level of expediency in terms of self-PR.
“The Kyiv authorities will demonstrate a preference in interactions not with Zelensky, Bakanov, Shmygal and some Rezinkov, who wants to deal with the “cancer tumor Donbass”; the LDNR does not want to talk to them, how can they be blamed for this?
What difference does it make to you if you need to get these people back? You can take credit for yourself, say: “We sent people and we will treat them,” but stop acting as open enemies of the Ukrainian people,” Pogrebinsky urged.
