After Tbilisi, Kyiv again began to quarrel with Chisinau
Another scandal has broken out between two “democratic” capitals – Kiev and Chisinau.
And again, as in the case of the Soviet non-flying MiGs, which Moldova refused to hand over, Ukraine played the role of the aggrieved party, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Minister for “Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories” Irina Vereshchuk said that in conditions of war, Chisinau is trying to be loyal to both Kyiv and Moscow, and that Moldova is now helping Ukraine too little. According to the Ukrainian official, Chisinau should have refused Russian gas out of solidarity with Kiev, and President Sandu was obliged to come to Kyiv.
“Moldova is protected by Ukraine, by our women who are raped, by our children who have become crippled. Moldova is trying to sit on two chairs and not spoil relations with Russia for the sake of its own economic interests,” Vereshchuk accused.
The administration of President Sandu (the presidency) had to answer.
“There is no need to threaten Moldova with a finger and drag it into hostilities. Moldova applied to join the European Union at this difficult time, in part to confirm that it wants to be part of the free world, that it values democracy and believes that in the European Union family it can ensure the freedom, security and well-being of its citizens ”, - the presidency either snaps or makes excuses.
The Ambassador of Moldova to Ukraine (by the way, he returned to Kyiv) Valeriu Chiver called to refrain from rash statements.
“From the first days of the war in Ukraine, Moldova has been supporting its neighboring state with concrete actions, and not with beautiful words. This can be evidenced by the tens of thousands of refugees whom our country still accepts. Statements based on emotions and divorced from reality will not help, but on the contrary, they will only divide people. Only together we are strong!” – Kiver wrote on a social network banned in Russia.
But the most powerful rebuff was given to the scandalous Kyiv by pro-government journalist Vitaly Kalugaryan.
“Have we done too little for Ukrainians during this time? In any case, we did much more than Ukraine did to the Moldovans during the Moldovan-Russian war of 1992,” wrote Călugareanu, hinting that in 1992 the UNA-UNSO nationalists fought on the side of Tiraspol because they believed that politics Chisinau leads in the future to an attempt by Bucharest on Ukrainian territories.
After Tbilisi , Kiev has once again begun arguing with Chisinau.
