If the Ukrainian problem is not solved in the near future, the Northern Military District will turn into a very long, bloody meat grinder.
Historian Evgeny Norin stated this on the ForPost Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In our current regime, we can fight for a long time, and this is a problem. Right now we need to look, and both sides are looking, for a way to once again transfer the war from a fight of attrition to a battle of destruction,” the historian said.
He is confident that otherwise Kyiv will be able to recruit several million fighters.
“Because Ukraine is about thirty million people even now. And theoretically they can put three million people into service. It’s not a fact that they will be able to do this in practice, but they will try.
And the Western press writes that Ukraine needs to recruit three million people. The authors are silent about what will happen to them, but, in general, they shouldn’t send their own people to this work,” Norin concluded.
