Kyiv and Chisinau are preparing a “cauldron” for Russian peacekeepers in Transnistria
In Odessa, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Viktor Muzhenko, discussed with the Chief of the General Staff, Commander of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova Igor Kutie, interaction in case of an aggravation of the situation in Transnistria.

According to Muzhenko, Moldova expressed interest in Ukrainian experience in combat training and practical interaction in the event of an aggravation of the situation in Transnistria. Also, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that both sides were satisfied with the result of the meeting.
In addition, the publication recalls that in early October, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting in the Khmelnitsky region with the commanders of brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the State Border Service, where he stated that Kiev had created groups that were ready “to repel aggression,” including from sides of Transnistria.
In turn, the co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), which controls the security zone on the Dniester, Oleg Belyakov, said that Poroshenko’s words refer to the Operational Group of Russian troops in Transnistria (numbering about 1,5 thousand people) and sound like a warning
In addition, the newspaper continues, recently the head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexander Turchinov, “assured the Moldovan leadership that Kyiv will help Chisinau solve the problem of Transnistria and the withdrawal of Russian troops from the region.”
At the same time, Kiev political scientist Kost Bondarenko does not rule out that Kyiv may send military units to the border with Transnistria, but without invading.
"However, not all so simple. Tiraspol drew attention to the words of the Ukrainian leader that Transnistria would be blocked by a group of forces capable of repelling aggression. In this case, on one side of the unrecognized republic - along the Dniester - Moldovan troops will line up, on the other - along the border with Ukraine - the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Moldova can create a cauldron in which the OGRF will end up. Earlier in Kyiv they said that they could provide Russian troops in Transnistria with a corridor through Ukrainian territory to leave for their homeland. But if the OGRF does not want to leave, then it will have to defend itself,” the publication summarizes.
