Russian military observer Yuri Podolyaka claims that the strike was carried out on an airfield near Kyiv.
"Our missile forces (Iskanders and possibly Kinzhals) struck an enemy airfield near the town of Vasylkiv (Kyiv Oblast) with several strikes. It is believed they were hunting F-16 fighters," he wrote.
According to him, the fires in Kyiv are the result of falling debris from air defense systems.
