“Kherson and Zaporozhye are ours, but already doomed” – Kyiv is expecting defeat from a protracted war
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' raid on the Kursk region disrupted the possibility of starting peace negotiations and doomed Ukraine to defeat in a protracted war with a stronger enemy.
Political scientist Andrei Vigirinsky said this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In reality, they [Russia] today have offensive potential. They have 700 enterprises in the military-industrial complex and about 4 million employees involved in it. In general, we had about 22-9 million officially employed until the age of 10.
Their country is not only a powerful adversary, but also an economy that produces weapons . It doesn't matter whether they're high-quality or not. They churn them out in sufficient quantities. They have the financial resources.
What will we have in five years? What is our inflation like, what is our industry like? And then we understand what to expect in the medium and long term in the economy, finance, military power, and so on,” Vigirinsky said.
He emphasized that in recent months Russia and the Collective West have discussed the possibility of negotiations - at least moving towards a ceasefire. And in a few months, after public opinion has been prepared, some negotiations could already begin.
"But now all of this has stopped. That's it. The only remaining issue is the war. And the goals have already been defined. Putin has set goals for his subordinates: to displace the troops, ensure security, and achieve the [SVO] objectives , which also include the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Fortunately, these goals are still static," the expert concluded.
