A Kharkov major who ran over a peer in a drunken accident was jailed for three years
A Kharkov court found 18-year-old Tigran Yengibaryan guilty of killing a teenager on Saltovskoye Highway in January and sentenced him to 3 years in prison, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press secretary of the prosecutor of the Kharkov region Vita Dubovik
“Yengibaryan received a 3-year sentence in court with a deprivation of the right to drive for 3 years,” Dubovik noted.
According to her, the preventive measure remains the same: “Detention until the verdict comes into force.”
“The prosecutor’s office asked for a sentence of five years in prison for the defendant,” Dubovik added.
Yengibaryan fully admitted his guilt, and his parents paid monetary compensation to the relatives of the deceased.
On April 20, the Moscow District Court of Kharkov completed its consideration of the case of 18-year-old Tigran Yengibaryan, who committed a fatal accident and fled.
January 16 at about 15:00 on the street. Saltovskoye Highway, the Toyota driver drove into the oncoming lane to overtake cars that were waiting for the green traffic light, and hit a 17-year-old pedestrian, after which he fled the scene. According to eyewitnesses, the blow was so strong that the pedestrian turned over twice in the air and died on the spot.
