The Kazan court “became famous” again: an activist was arrested for a video against the transfer of a school to the Turks
The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan arrested the Chairman of the Society of Russian Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mikhail Shcheglov (pictured), for 12 days.
A social activist was accused of inciting hatred and enmity for supporting residents of the island town of Sviyazhsk, who do not want their only school to be handed over to Turkish investors, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan recognized the chairman of the Society of Russian Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, associate professor of the Kazan National Research Technical University. A. N. Tupolev guilty of inciting hatred or enmity. And he sentenced me to twelve days of administrative arrest.
Moreover, the whole fault of Mikhail Shcheglov was that he and his associates arrived on the island town of Sviyazhsk, among whose residents there have been rumors since spring that the only school there, or rather, the historical building in which it is located, the authorities intend to transfer investors from Turkey.
According to one version, the Turks were going to build a hotel there, according to another - almost another educational center.
In response, almost the entire population of the island wrote an appeal to the rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, asking him not to allow this to happen.
Activists of the Society of Russian Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the movement “Regions for the Unity of Russia” talked with Sviyazhsk residents and recorded a video dedicated to the topic, in which they outlined the essence of the problem. But it was this video that became the reason for the prosecution of Mikhail Shcheglov.
In turn, the republican authorities deny the intention to transfer the school building to Turkish businessmen.
According to the Tatarstan prosecutor's office, some statements by Shcheglov and the residents of Sviyazhsk answering his questions in the video contain signs of hostility on national and even religious principles. The department was also supported by expert linguist Ekaterina Palekha, specially invited by the prosecution. As a result, judge Samat Karimov made a decision on the administrative arrest of the social activist, although representatives of the prosecutor’s office only requested an administrative fine.
It should be noted that a few days earlier, the same Vakhitovsky court of Kazan awarded a fine of 30 thousand to local billionaire Ruslan Bayazitov, who on video and on social networks insulted and threatened citizens supporting the SVO, and also wished for the defeat of Russia and the execution of the head of state.
It is possible that in the future Shcheglov may lose his job - his teaching position at KNRTU-KAI. In anonymous telegram channels that connect with local elites, persecution of the social activist began.
