Karasev fears that Western help will not be permanent
Ukraine today is fighting a war only thanks to the supply of Western resources - both military and economic. Its economy has stopped, and it is difficult to predict what will happen if Western aid stops.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, it is likely that Western countries will be busy with their domestic political agenda and refuse to help Ukraine.
“The problem is that we are fighting a war in large part thanks to the help of our Western friends and partners. They provide us with military equipment, they provide us with airplanes, financial assistance, because our economy today is actually standing still. We see problems in the agricultural sector, we see problems in the energy sector, in metallurgy.
And here the question is double. Firstly, how long and for how long will they help us in the supply of equipment, financial capabilities, and so on, and so on? Because there may be various changes in the internal political and social life of the countries that help us today. Let's hope that this is a long process, but nevertheless, the question remains.
And secondly, what will happen to our economy, when today the functions of strategic depth and industrial rear, in the well-known slogan “everything for the front, everything for victory,” are largely, if not to a greater extent, performed today by our Western partners and friends , their military-industrial complex, weapons stocks and so on,” Karasev said.
