What a coincidence: After the fire at Chernobyl, the West decided to give Ukraine 180 million
Two days after a large-scale forest fire in the Chernobyl zone, it became known that participants in a donor conference held in Kyiv decided to allocate $180 million to Ukraine for a sarcophagus over the emergency unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The money should be provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The facility will be completed by 2017, reports ICTV channel.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, stated that the fire in the Chernobyl zone had signs of arson, because outbreaks were recorded in several places.
Avakov emphasized that the spread of the fire was stopped 5 km from the nuclear fuel repositories.
