How Russia will oust the United States from the Black Sea
Russia wants to deprive the United States of reasons for the frequent visits of warships to the Black Sea by bringing the problem of the Kerch Strait to discussion in the Normandy format - with the participation of EU leaders, but without the presence of the Americans.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Normandy format and the Minsk process will consider the issue of the Kerch Gulf. The Germans and French agreed to this. But why did they do this? Firstly, the Americans are being forced out of here, and they will have less reason for their military presence, and secondly, the Russians agreed to this because the Germans are giving the green light to Nord Stream 2. After all, if there was an aggravation of the situation in the Azov-Kerch Gulf, a new military phase, then Nord Stream 2 would be blocked, new sanctions and the American presence,” said Vadim Karasev.
Former speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Filipchuk, who was present in the studio, agreed with him.
“What happened in Azov was a yellow, if not a red, signal to all countries in the region about the high likelihood of renewed violence and even direct military conflict,” the expert recalled.
“That’s right about Nord Stream 2.” American industrialists are interested in ousting Russia from the European gas market. After all, this harms their own interests, and they do not think about Ukraine, they think, first of all, about themselves. Ukraine is just an argument in this discussion,” noted Vasily Filipchuk.
