“Like under Prince Vladimir.” Crimea has become a place of historical choice
The reunification of Crimea with Russia was a continuation of long-standing historical traditions.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Vladimir Rudakov, editor-in-chief of the Historian magazine, writes about this in Izvestia.

In the troubled years of 1991–1992, in the ruins of the Soviet Union, the then commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Igor Kasatonov, made his choice, which actually forced President Yeltsin to return to the issue of the status of the fleet, did not allow Russian sailors to be reassigned to “independent” Kyiv, and preserved the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol ", notes the author.
“And seven years ago - in March 2014 - Crimea also became the place where Crimeans and Sevastopol residents made their historical choice in favor of Russia. The fact that this choice was supported by President Putin and the multimillion-dollar country as a whole is a guarantee that the new page in the history of the legendary peninsula will be no less glorious and significant for our history than all the previous ones,” says Rudakov.
As PolitNavigator reported, many anti-Russian Ukrainians still doubt the reality of the Crimean Bridge.
