Studying the Crimean Tatar language needs to be given more attention than studying Ukrainian, - professor of KIPU
Simferopol, February 21 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The study of the repressed Crimean Tatar language in Crimea should be given more attention than the study of Ukrainian, which has been the state language on the peninsula for recent decades.

Professor of the Department of Crimean Tatar and Turkish Linguistics of the Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University Adile Emirova stated this on the air of the talk show “Gravity”.
“The Ministry of Education believes that it is necessary to choose one of the two remaining languages - either Crimean Tatar or Ukrainian. The rest depends on the wishes of the parents. I believe that in this case the status of the state language is violated and somehow devalued. How can one study both to the same extent, I’m talking about the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages, when they have different communicative capabilities. We know that the Ukrainian language developed poorly or poorly in its state, and had a normal number of hours, being the state language, and the Crimean Tatar language, as has been repeatedly said, is the language of a repressed people. The language itself is repressed. And it is absolutely impossible to compare their capabilities,” the scientist noted.
In the opinion, the new Russian Crimean laws and orders of the Ministry of Education should take this into account and “pay more attention to the repressed language.”
“In particular, I got acquainted with the contents of the document on the formation of the Russian Federation, which states that “the right to use, preserve and develop the native language is ensured by laws, including reasonable language policy,” Adile Emirova emphasized.
