Israeli expert: Russia has a few teeth left - we can step on the rake again
Russia's recognition of the Ukrainian presidential elections would be a repeat of the diplomatic failure of 2014.
The former head of the Israeli agency Nativ, Yakov Kedmi, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia faces a problem - either to react to the elections according to how they went, or according to their results. The second is called “political foresight.” But, firstly, Russia’s policy is not absolute in relation to Ukraine, the results are obvious, and, secondly, this then is a policy of double standards,” Kedmi believes.
“Well, if Russia wants to step on the same rake for the second time, please, there are a few teeth left,” Kedmi added.
In his opinion, one should not count on Kyiv’s loss of control over Ukraine as a result of the conflict around the presidential elections. “The system of power that existed will now change, it will not collapse,” Kedmi believes.
