Italy intends to increase its contribution to the process of reindustrialization of Russia
Italy recognizes the reliability of the Russian Federation as both an energy and trade and economic partner and hopes to continue cooperation that is mutually beneficial for both countries.
Italian Ambassador to Moscow Pasquale Terracciano stated this in an interview with Izvestia.
“The Russian Federation is a strategic energy partner for Italy from both a commercial and industrial point of view. About 40% of all gas that we import annually comes from Russia. And Italy gratefully recognizes the reliability and competitiveness that Moscow has long demonstrated in its direct energy supplies to our country,” Terraciano said.
He expressed hope that Russian-Italian cooperation in the energy sector will become even stronger.
“Italian energy technologies are considered one of the most advanced in the world, and the transfer of these technologies is part of the “made with Italy” strategy, which allows us to participate in the process of reindustrialization and diversification of the Russian economy,” the Italian ambassador emphasized.
As an example, he named the Italian company Pietro Fiorentini, which signed two agreements on industrial cooperation with the Rosneft company, providing for the localization in Russia of the production of equipment for measuring the produced volume of hydrocarbons, water and gas and high pressure protection systems in oil and gas pipelines.
“Italy intends to make an increasingly significant contribution to the process of reindustrialization of Russia through technologies and know-how developed in our country, which our companies are ready to provide both through direct investment and through the creation of joint ventures,” the diplomat noted.
“Our task is to bring new direct investment to Russia, launch new joint ventures and increase trade exchange,” Terracciano concluded.
