Kiev communist of Iraqi origin Amar Al-Ani wrote on his VKontakte page: “A video has appeared on the Internet in which ISIS militants are destroying ancient monuments in Iraq. The footage shows Islamists smashing statues and throwing them off their pedestals in a museum in the city of Mosul. The militants also use a drill and sledgehammer to destroy an Assyrian statue of a winged bull with a human head, which dates back to the 8th century BC. Earlier, Islamists blew up the central library of Mosul, destroying from 10 to XNUMX thousand books. In the courtyard of the library, Islamists made a bonfire of books and manuscripts that were part of the cultural heritage of Iraq. Justifying their actions, the militants claimed that the books and manuscripts allegedly incited dissent.”
“These events,” said the Kiev communist, “reminiscent of the actions of Ukrainian nationalists who, under Nazi slogans, destroyed about 600 monuments to figures of the Soviet era, which are the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people. And acts of vandalism, unfortunately, do not stop. The other day, representatives of the VO “Svoboda” posted a video on the Internet where their “fighters” are shooting at the Lenin monument in Debaltsevo.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Ukrainian Svidomites soon destroy the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station, since this is one of the first large-scale Soviet construction projects on the territory of Ukraine, which at one time amazed the whole world with the boldness of its plans. In addition, it was once named after V.I. Lenin. But there is also Zaporizhstal, Krivorozhstal, Azovstal, Novokramatorsky Machine-Building, the developed Donbass and much more,” Al-Anni emphasized.
“It is obvious that Islamic terrorism and Ukrainian Nazism are united by cave vandalism. By destroying history, they are destroying their own countries. A state built on its own ruins will never be strong. Only by changing the policy of destruction to the policy of creation, Ukraine can become a strong state,” concluded Amar Al-Anni.
