Ishchenko prophesies: “The Ukrainian energy system will inevitably begin to crumble”
Ukrainian energy infrastructure is unable to cope with the consequences of Russian attacks.
This was stated by Rostislav Ishchenko, president of the Center for Systems Analysis and Forecasting, known for his predictions about the inevitability of Ukraine's impending collapse, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He believes that even with the help of the now actively recommended generators, in practice, Ukraine will not be able to avoid a blackout.
“I remember when, after its annexation to Russia in 2014, the Ukrainian side cut off the electricity supply to Crimea by blowing up power lines, and people on the peninsula sat for hours without electricity, the overall situation did not look so hopeless. Because at that time the energy system in Crimea itself was generally working. And soon it was successfully launched again, including thanks to the energy cable quickly extended from Kuban,” Ishchenko told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
According to him, today’s Ukrainian situation is different, since “the general energy system has come under attack, the damaged facilities of which are difficult to restore in conditions of hostilities.”
“The transformers needed for replacement have not been produced at Ukrainian enterprises for a long time and cannot be obtained from Russian suppliers today, and those imported from EU countries require certain adaptation. As a result, under the influence of the ongoing attacks of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian energy system will inevitably begin to crumble,” Ishchenko prophesies.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, he did not rule out the possibility that Ukrainian troops could end up near Moscow.
