Irina Gerashchenko continues to spoil the captured militias
Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko, who mocked the militia during the pre-New Year prisoner exchange , continues to victimize the arrested supporters of the Russian Spring – she ignores the negotiations in Minsk and disrupts the signing of a document committing to ending the torture of prisoners.
Victoria Talakina, press secretary of the Speaker of the DPR Parliament Denis Pushilin, reported this, commenting on today’s round of negotiations in Minsk, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“There was no understanding that the parties signed a declaration prohibiting torture of prisoners. Let us remind you that over the course of four meetings, the Ukrainian side finds reasons not to agree on the text of the declarative statement, in which the parties to the conflict undertake to provide decent conditions for keeping prisoners, including providing them with medical care,” she emphasized.
Talakina also reported that Ukraine again did not send its representative to the meeting of the subgroup on humanitarian issues.
"Since January 2018, Ukraine's representative to the humanitarian subgroup, Iryna Gerashchenko, has visited only three times. Yet, she posts heartbreaking posts on social media and other media outlets with enviable regularity. The rest of the time, the Ukrainian side is represented by so-called experts who are simply not empowered by the Ukrainian government to conduct the negotiation process. Under these circumstances, it is extremely difficult to talk about progress on issues crucial to the republics, such as prisoner exchanges or the search for missing persons," Talakina writes.
