The initiator of the shelling of the DPR was our artillery - ex-ATO soldier
Ukrainian artillery was the first to carry out provocative shelling of the territory of the DPR and provoked the People's Militia to return fire.
A former serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign “Tulip” spoke about this on the YouTube channel of ex-ATO officer Alexander Medinsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the time of my service, when we stood near Avdiivka, especially the artillery, basically, was the initiator on our part. For three days we could iron [DPR-controlled] Yasinovataya, and only on the third or fourth day received a response. Of course, I have a completely negative attitude towards this.
As for us, there was about a kilometer between us, and we literally only shot through our own zone; they didn’t shoot at the other side. At first they also fired at us with a machine gun and checked us for lice, but when they saw that we weren’t giving an answer and weren’t shooting at them, they stopped shooting at us too.
They fought in a neighboring company; it was Mochilovo there. But again, if you show that you don’t want to kill anyone and don’t shoot purposefully, they stop shooting at you. But this, again, concerns 2016,” said the former Ukrainian military man.
