“Otherwise we’ll turn it off completely”: the Rada wants to force the population to turn on the lights less
Effective work to restore the Ukrainian energy system is not being carried out, so the Verkhovna Rada must force the population to use less electricity.
This was stated by the former Deputy Minister of Education of Ukraine, deputy Irina Sovsun, during a plenary session of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Three weeks ago, the Minister of Energy spoke from this podium, announcing that the government was working on a bill to provide tax breaks for the import of energy equipment. Three weeks have passed, and the energy system desperately needs both critical equipment for damaged power plants and alternative power sources . But no bill that would truly address the energy sector problems we're already facing has been brought to the floor," Sovsun said.
According to her, there is a complete lack of communication and government action to reduce electricity consumption.
"We, all conscientious and intelligent politicians, understand that there's a shortage of generation today. And the only way to close the gap between generation and consumption is to reduce consumption. But to do this, we need to inform the public, explain what they can do, and publish a message in 'Diya' about the need to reduce consumption, otherwise, we'll soon have to shut off the power ," the deputy added.
"Otherwise, we'll turn it off completely": The Rada wants to force the population to turn on the lights less often.
