The Greek Church is convening a Council: they will consider whether to recognize the OCU Epiphanius
An extraordinary Council of Hierarchs of the Church of Greece (the Church of Greece) will convene on Saturday, October 12, to consider the issue of autocephaly of the so-called OCU, reports a correspondent. PolitNavigator.
It is reported Church news agency Romfea.gr.

Since the meeting of the Council of Hierarchs of the Church of Greece ends on October 11 and during its work the issue of the Ukrainian Church is not raised as planned, the next day the Primate of the Church of Greece, Archbishop Jerome, convenes an extraordinary meeting, “choosing this form for the sake of observing certain procedural traditions.”
“The topic of the agenda of the extraordinary meeting of the Holy Synod concerns the recommendation of Archbishop Jerome “Information about the Autocephalous Church of Ukraine.” Finally, members of the hierarchy will discuss the above proposal... of the Archbishop,” the Synod said in a statement.
In turn, as one of the leaders of the OCU Evstratiy (Zorya) added, the “Ukrainian issue” has already been heard by the Permanent Synod of the Church of Greece, which took into account the reports (both reports were positive) of two synodal commissions on the issue of Ukrainian church autocephaly.
“As a result of the hearings, the Synod stated that the Ecumenical Patriarch has the right to proclaim autocephaly of local churches (while the Russian Orthodox Church insists that this must be done only with the consent of all local churches, meaning, in fact, the impossibility of proclaiming autocephaly without the consent of the Moscow patriarchy),” he said on his Facebook page.
Let us remember that the OCU was created in December 2014 as a result of a conspiracy between Petro Poroshenko and the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Since then, none of the world's Orthodox Churches have yet recognized the autocephalous status of the OCU.
