The State Duma equated volunteers to veterans
All factions of the State Duma of the Russian Federation supported the law, which assigns the status of combat veteran to volunteers of a special military operation in Ukraine.
The leader of the A Just Russia party, Sergei Mironov, told journalists about this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We are talking about our volunteers who decided to participate in the SVO. They are given the status of combat veteran. The law will be in effect from February 24 this year. All required social payments for volunteers are being introduced,” Mironov said.

He was supported by LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky.
“Indeed, today the Northern Military District includes more and more of those who voluntarily go to the front. They must be completely protected. Extending the status of a combat veteran to a volunteer is an urgent need,” Slutsky said.
According to him, the LDPR has made constructive amendments to the law on volunteers.
“We are talking about opportunities for volunteers to use communication services. Volunteers are a very noble corps of our fellow citizens who bring good to those who need it. The ability to use communication is sensitive and important for them. Therefore, this provision in the law is completely justified,” said Slutsky.
