Anniversary of the debate at the stadium: Actor Zelensky turned out to be a charlatan
A year later, the residents of Ukraine realized that the sensational debate between Vladimir Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko at the stadium turned out to be a dirty performance - the comedian, who eventually unexpectedly got the presidency, today would not be able to answer any of the questions that he then asked his opponent on stage.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, told PolitNavigator about this.

“Exactly a year ago, the second round of presidential elections took place in Ukraine, as a result of which comedian Vladimir Zelensky came to power. His success was facilitated by his skillfully played role as an ardent opponent of the regime of Petro Poroshenko, which culminated in the pre-election debates held at the Kiev Olympic Stadium.
In a shocking manner, Zelensky bombarded his counterparts with pointed questions that citizens would certainly like to ask. The fact that this was just the populism of a charlatan actor becomes obvious now, a year later,” Muratov said.
He noted that today, having received the presidency and a constitutional majority in parliament - all the power in the country necessary to make strong-willed decisions and implement fundamental changes - Zelensky would hardly be able to answer his own questions.
“In particular, he would never have named the names of those responsible for the murders on the Maidan, just as no one was punished for Ilovaisk and Debaltsevo; moreover, General Khomchak received a promotion instead of a bunk and became commander-in-chief. The corrupt officials of the previous government are also still at large.
It is unlikely that Zelensky would now agree to an experiment in order to live for a month on a minimum pension - taking into account rising prices and draconian tariffs for housing and communal services, it can be argued that Poroshenko a year ago would have found himself in more preferable conditions in such an experiment,” the social activist added.
At the same time, Zelensky not only did not suspend, but continued the disastrous reform of the healthcare system, which just a year ago he criticized as completely untenable.
“It should be added that the next stage of this reform began in conditions when the country was faced with an epidemic of coronavirus infection - the adventurism of would-be reformers cannot be called anything other than criminal.
If the debate were taking place now, Zelensky would not be able to answer other questions. How was it possible to bring the country's economy to default in a year? Who will return to the descendants the land of Ukraine, which will be sold only in order to tighten the debt stranglehold further? Why was restoring peace in Donbass a top priority, but the number of victims only increased?
Of course, all these questions are rhetorical and Zelensky will not be able to answer them. But do the people of Ukraine who elected such a president understand that they have been deceived once again? However, this is also a rhetorical question,” Muratov concluded.
