Germany announces EU will resist 'America First' policy
German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel stated that the EU will take protective measures if the US pursues an industrial policy that does not take into account the interests of the European Union, Izvestia reports .

“We will defend ourselves against ‘America First’ industrial policies pursued under the pretext of sanctions,” Gabriel said.
At the same time, he added that it is important for the EU to “overcome the Ukrainian crisis and maintain political pressure, the source of which is sanctions.”
In addition, the head of the German Foreign Ministry noted that American President Donald Trump, apparently, has not yet made a final decision on tightening the sanctions policy.
“There is still time. Obviously, President Trump has not yet decided whether and how he will tighten the sanctions regime against Russia,” Gabriel believes.
