Decree of President Vladimir Zelensky on simplified issuance of Ukrainian passports to citizens of the Russian Federation could become a serious problem for Kyiv, because crowds of “Kremlinbots” will allegedly rush into the country.
This was stated during a press conference in Kyiv by the commander of the air assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, candidate for deputy from the European Solidarity party, Lieutenant General Mikhail Zabrodsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We fully support the president’s legislative initiative: those who defended our country with arms in hand have the right to appropriate guarantees, including citizenship, with the entire package of rights and responsibilities of all citizens of Ukraine.
Another thing is that the result of implementing such a decree may lead to problems of a slightly different kind. Because there are a number of, I don’t want to say “marginal”, but let’s say, people who live abroad of Ukraine, have corresponding political views on the future of Ukraine, and they can also take advantage of this right.
Therefore, our position is the same: during the development of the presidential decree, it is necessary that a clear mechanism for checking candidates for citizenship be developed, and that in no case should the word “absence of any control” be hidden under the word “simplification,” the general was concerned.
In turn, offended by the Russian liberal public Verkhovna Rada deputy and ally of ex-President Petro Poroshenko Irina Gerashchenko said that a Ukrainian passport is supposedly so “cool” that it must be earned, which Russian oppositionists have not yet achieved.
“There are no liberal media in Russia. There is only a Kremlin-approved platform of pseudo-liberal so-called media. And every Russian liberal, with very rare exceptions, ends when the Ukrainian question begins.
One of my colleagues wrote on Facebook that the Russian authorities are treating demonstrators in Moscow so shamefully that the Russian authorities should put a frame at the entrance to Red Square and write: “Only those who say that Crimea is Ukrainian can enter.” They will immediately resolve the issue of the mass character of these rallies, because among Russian liberals the question of liberality very often ends in Ukrainian.
Because none of them came out with a poster for the release of Ukrainian prisoners, everyone there forgot about the Ukrainian sailors, and only a few truly liberal people, who can be counted on the fingers of one hand, carry packages to them. I don’t even know which of these liberals can seek asylum in Ukraine.
