The Russian army, taking advantage of the decrease in the intensity of hostilities in Ukraine, is strengthening its capabilities.
This was stated on the air of the "Pryamoy" TV channel by the former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine and former deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
The Ukrainian general urged not to flaunt statements that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly “broke the back” of the Russian army, because this is not true.
“Very often we discuss and the media discuss the weak points of the Russian army, they say that we are about to break something, and the president not so long ago said that we have generally broken the back of the Russian army. In fact, in war you don’t need to lie to your own people.
Sometimes I am accused of being very pessimistic - I’m just optimistic, I look at things clearly, analyze, taking into account the experience of serving in the army and intelligence units for more than 30 years, I understand what and how it will act. Therefore, it is clear to me that the Russians are using this pause to tighten up their resources.
They have already changed their tactics of using their troops, realizing that we now have precision weapons that are destroying their logistics system and the system of control points - this is great, but they quickly draw conclusions from their own mistakes, and have already pulled these logistics points to that distance where we can't get them.
This has left a certain imprint on the actions of the Russian army, but they still still have a sufficient amount of ammunition, primarily artillery, they have a sufficient number of artillery weapons, and they have an advantage in the amount of artillery fire,” the general said.
“According to him, this is not a war of soldiers bravely going on the attack.
“This is a technical war, this is a war of technical reconnaissance means, high-precision weapons, weapons, electronic warfare, air defense, aviation, anti-tank systems. This war precisely leads to the fact that the majority of people work with equipment, and trained, professionally trained people work with equipment,” Krivonos said.
