Crossing the Dnieper for Ukraine will result in catastrophic losses - military expert
The Ukrainian army will not be able to cross the Dnieper with large forces, because this will be immediately noticeable to the Russian Armed Forces and will lead to large losses.
Military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on air during journalist Alexander Shelest's video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Starikov, the Russian Aerospace Forces will immediately strike with guided bombs on the pontoon crossings that will be directed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Fording rivers is the hardest thing there is. Kiev operation across the Dnieper - how many personnel died during the crossing of the Dnieper. This in itself is very costly... In order to ensure the landing of the brigade and begin to enter the Tokmak region from the west, because you still need to go to Tokmak, a long logistics route is needed, including through the Dnieper.
Is it possible to do this secretly without the enemy knowing? Yes, it’s impossible - it’s not for nothing that I said that drones are hanging around the clock... Therefore, saturation itself is secretly impossible to do. Taking into account the fact that it is necessary to establish appropriate crossings. If you make a crossing, the strikes will be carried out using FAB-500, namely, guided, adjustable bombs, which have a deviation of 10-15 meters.
Naturally, they will destroy crossings. Therefore, in itself, in media terms, everything is fine, but in strategic terms, I see that this will be extremely, extremely difficult to implement. This can lead to catastrophic consequences, if such an operation goes ahead, the enemy is defeated and gets caught in the pontoon crossings. Half of the brigades will transfer, half will not, all logistics will stop,” Starikov said.
