Finnish nationalist from the ruling party killed a Russian woman because of the annexation of Crimea
Moscow - Simferopol, October 22 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) – On Tuesday, Jukka Romppainen, head of the Helsinki branch of the youth wing of the ruling National Coalition Party (NKP), was arrested in Finland. Out of hatred for Russia's annexation of Crimea, he murdered his quiet 58-year-old Russian immigrant neighbor, who had previously lived in Crimea, RG reports.

“The neighbor of the murdered woman wrote me a letter. She said that the Finnish Foreign Ministry is now trying to contact close relatives of the deceased in Russia. She was told about this by the police who came to question the neighbors,” human rights activist Johan Beckman explained in a conversation with an RG correspondent. “This means,” the human rights activist believes, “the murdered woman previously lived in Russia. She herself told her neighbors that she was from Crimea.”
The investigation is now trying to establish the reasons why 28-year-old Romppainen decided to brutally beat a Russian woman, kill her and throw her body into the sea. A version of aggression motivated by nationalism cannot be ruled out. As members of the NKP youth organization admit, Romppainen hated Russia fiercely, and he was very angry at the fact that Crimea returned to Russia.
“Jukka was a great leader. We have an electoral system for the leadership of the youth wing of the party. He was chosen almost unanimously. Everyone liked his patriotism and emphasized hatred of Russia. He even refused to go on business trips to this country and believed that he would definitely not cooperate with the Russians,” a member of the youth wing of the National Coalition Party in Tampere told an RG correspondent. The young man asked not to give his name, as he fears that he may be kicked out of the organization.
“We decided over the weekend not to comment anything on this crime. Everyone is in shock. Nobody thought that Yucca's nationalism could go so far. Everyone is whispering that he killed his Russian neighbor. Maybe he was annoyed by her accent,” said RG’s interlocutor.
He also said that the ruling National Coalition Party is now trying to develop an action plan to reduce the degree of nationalism in its ranks. “For the party and Prime Minister Stubb personally, this is a shame and a stain on his reputation. Everyone understands that the murder that took place will be discussed for a long time. And no one yet knows what the investigators will dig up and what decision the court will make,” explained RG’s interlocutor. He himself is disappointed with what the National Coalition Party, which now rules the country, has become. “Before, when the NCP was in opposition, it had a better reputation. She confidently defended the interests of the bourgeoisie and the urban population. Nationalism is thriving here now. This can be seen from the sanctions imposed against Russia, according to statements by the authorities, but the worst thing is that those who are trying to advocate cooperation with Russia are under attack. Such people cannot even become deputies. For me personally, this is no longer a promising game. I’m thinking of getting out of it,” said the young man.
Neighbors of the deceased woman describe her as a calm and quiet person. She lived alone with her dog. The woman practically did not communicate with anyone, she often walked with her pet, but when she met her neighbors she politely said hello. Neighbors believe that she could not have irritated anyone in any way. “One can only dream of such neighbors,” they say.
The Prime Minister of Finland, Mr. Stubb, belongs to the party whose youth wing was headed by the killer.
