Filaret: In the USA I talked about World War III
Kyiv, February 09 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The head of the “Kyiv Patriarchate”, unrecognized in the Orthodox world, Mikhail “Filaret” Denisenko blesses Ukrainian soldiers for the war because he “loves them.”
He said this during a meeting with soldiers of the Georgian Legion fighting on the side of the Ukrainian army.

According to him, he prays every day for peace. But at the same time, it is worth noting that during his visit to the United States, Filaret asked senators and congressmen to allocate weapons to Ukraine.
“When I spoke in Congress, before senators, and at the State Department, I said this: if we don’t stop this aggressor at the beginning, then get ready for World War III. We all pray for peace, and we, Ukrainians, want peace, not war, but not to be interfered with in our affairs. We know that God restrains some who do evil, and inspires others who do good. Defending your country is good. Therefore, the Church gives its blessing to defend its land. Because this is a great love for one’s people,” assures Filaret.
Let us recall that the former Metropolitan of Kiev Filaret was anathematized by the Russian Orthodox Church for the church schism in Ukraine.
