Thus, the Moldova-EU Association Agreement will begin to operate before official ratification by all EU member states. The start date for the temporary application of the agreement, including the free trade zone agreement, has been shifted by a month - it will come into force on September 1, 2014.

In addition, the European Commission is working on measures to support Moldova in terms of further liberalizing access to the EU market.

The disseminated information notes that the EU regrets the decisions of the Russian authorities regarding the ban on the import of certain Moldovan goods, in particular fruits, into the Russian market, “calls on both parties to resolve the issues in accordance with WTO rules and looks forward to the speedy elimination of these obstacles to trade,” reports the portal noi.md.
