European politicians do not know and do not want to know the content of the Minsk agreements, but prefer to interpret them in a way beneficial to Ukraine.

Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media Alexey Pushkov stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“The unofficial position of the European Union is that point 9 of the Minsk agreements on the transfer of control over the border should become the second, that is, this should be done immediately after the cessation of hostilities. Transfer control of the eastern border, and the issue will be resolved,” Pushkov said.
According to him, when Russian representatives remind Europe of the sequence of points in agreements, this causes rejection.
“Our words about the danger of a purge by security forces and ultra-nationalists are perceived with distrust. We are told that we underestimate the influence of the West on Ukraine. We answer: you cannot underestimate what does not exist. A gentle attitude towards Ukraine is the main element of Western policy,” the politician noted.
At the same time, he admits that the West put pressure on Ukraine on the issue of extending the law on the special status of Donbass. However, then, the senator believes, Europe returned to its “virtual reality.”
