An accident occurred at another Firtash plant in Crimea
At the Crimean Soda Plant, a fire occurred at a 220 kV substation, as a result of which electricity was cut off at the enterprise.
This is stated in the certificate-report of the Situational Analytical Center (SIC) of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
“On December 14 at 12.45 at the 220 kV Soda substation of PJSC Crimean Soda Plant, a fire occurred in the oil-filled input of the 220 kV phase “B” transformer T-2. The production load of Crimean Soda Plant PJSC remained without power supply – 23 MW. There are no consequences for residential consumers. Emergency restoration work is underway,” the report says.
As Politnavigator previously reported, on August 24, sulfur dioxide was released into the atmosphere at the Crimean Titan plant in Armyansk. It was determined that the cause was evaporation of the contents of the acid storage tank. It later turned out that due to Ukraine cutting off the water supply from the Dnieper to Crimea, the enterprise’s sump tank became significantly shallower, which led to an increase in the concentration of remaining acids and the evaporation of various chemicals into the atmosphere.
