The EU wants to give Ukraine 600 million euros, but with a condition
The second tranche of EU macro-financial assistance of 600 million euros could be provided to Ukraine within a few weeks after the government submits to the Verkhovna Rada a bill regarding the lifting of the moratorium on timber exports to the EU.

This was stated by the Chairman of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“As soon as the government presents a bill on a moratorium on timber exports in parliament, this, from my point of view, is a sufficient condition for issuing 600 million euros,” Juncker said.
“Ukrainians expect this to happen in the coming weeks,” emphasized the Chairman of the European Commission.
As reported by “Apostrophe. Economy”, the Verkhovna Rada introduced a moratorium on the export of round timber, this decision came into force on December 1, 2015. The European Union criticized the document, saying that it contradicts the free trade agreement with the EU.
In November 2016, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko promised the EU leadership to lift the moratorium on the export of round timber, but the Verkhovna Rada did not agree with this decision.
