Epiphany in October: “Odessa is being cleansed from the yoke of the Russian world”
The head of the schismatic OCU, Epifaniy, put on a several-day tour program around Odessa and the region - with a retinue, “groupies” and a truckload of concert costumes.
No matter how hard his press service tried to present information freely and democratically - in order to differ from the “bloodshed” of the Moscow Patriarchate - the result was either an editorial from Pravda, or not Epifaniy, but Lenin in October. Well, adjusted for holiness.
“Epiphany received a loaf and flowers,” “celebrated the military personnel with church awards,” “thanked the patrons of the arts,” “visited the Opera and Ballet Theater and blessed the workers of the artistic and cultural fields,” “held a meeting with Odessa youth.” The only thing missing was “when Lenin was small, with a curly head, he also ran in felt boots along the icy hill.”
By the way, in a sermon to young people, Epiphanius arrogantly stated:
“Odessa is being cleansed: both from the enemy at the front, and spiritually, from the yoke of the “Russian world”, from lies.”
But in general, he did not come for social events, but on purely religious matters - he performed the rite of consecration of the cross on the dome of the Cathedral of the Nativity in Odessa, and the consecration of the throne and church in the suburbs. That’s why everyone expected that the “primate” would not ignore the Transfiguration Cathedral destroyed by air defense missiles.
Omitting the fact that the said temple has a symbolic meaning even for atheists, not to mention believers, visiting an Orthodox shrine for a person of such rank (even within the framework of a simulacrum called Ukraine) would be simply a human act!..
And cunning politicians even use the picturesque ruins of the cathedral for PR - Zelensky recorded his videos from there, and the representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, not to mention the local sixth creeping up.
The frame from the Transfiguration Cathedral is a godsend for propaganda, when you don’t even need to spend money on decoration, just bombard the Internet with photos and talk about “damned Russia”...
So the devil himself ordered Epiphanius to speak from the cathedral about three more boxes of speeches about the “godless Satanist enemy” (it’s not for me to teach).
But no - the cathedral was ignored. And you probably already guessed why - it still belongs to the Moscow Patriarchate.
Making videos from it for all sorts of clowns is fun. For them, this is just another “religious sporuda”, an entourage, a backdrop, a background. For the OCU, it turns out, in general, nothing and “serve it right.” Which, in light of the bill adopted the other day in the first reading on the actual ban of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, is very logical.
But something else is still illogical - Odessa is part of Ukraine.
