Epiphany boasted of a photo with Zelensky
Ukrainian President-elect Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), which is subordinate to Constantinople, Metropolitan Epiphanius, met at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius, are meeting at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery in Kyiv,” reads a message on the OCU Facebook page on Tuesday.

Details of the meeting are not disclosed. The message is illustrated with a photograph of Zelensky and Epiphany.
Epiphany later commented on the meeting on social networks.
“I met with the elected President Vladimir Zelensky. I will pray that God will give the new head of state the strength to bear the burden of responsibility for the unity of Ukraine. We must together protect and increase what Ukrainians have already received,” Epiphany wrote.
“At the meeting, problems facing Ukrainians were discussed, in particular, the long-term conflict in Donbass. The newly elected head of state and Metropolitan Epifaniy were unanimous that the church should pray, and the state should do everything so that all regions of our country live in peace and tranquility. The topics of fighting corruption and poverty were also discussed,” Zelensky’s press service said.
