A tuberculosis epidemic is consuming impoverished Ukraine
Due to catastrophic poverty in Ukraine, the number of tuberculosis diseases has increased, which suits the current Ukrainian government quite well.
The head of the public organization “Public Audit” Maxim Goldarb stated this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“That’s what doctors say, tuberculosis is a disease of the poor. Now the number of cases is growing day by day, year by year. The acting acting director is even beginning to speak the truth about this. Minister Suprun. This indicates, first of all, that the socio-economic situation in the country has changed. Tuberculosis clings to the undernourished, to those who do not get enough sleep, to those living in poor sanitary conditions, to those who cannot treat themselves on time, to those who cannot nourish themselves with vitamins. These people cannot do this not because they are bad, but because today everyone in the country on average is 4 times poorer. There is not enough money for medicines, vitamin supplementation, or timely courses of treatment for chronic diseases. This is the main cause of the trouble,” Goldarb said.
In his opinion, the authorities are deliberately inactive.
“What did Suprun, Prime Minister Groysman, Yatsenyuk do when they were prime minister, to ensure that there would not be such a terrible situation with tuberculosis in Ukraine, because before them Ukraine tried quite well to cope with these problems? There was both prevention and treatment. And I will say this. This entire team destroyed, for example, the sanitary and epidemiological service, that is, the issue of disease prevention. The issue of controlling the spread of infection is no longer an issue today, unfortunately, because no one raises it,” the social activist emphasized.
“This whole team made medicine paid, that is, it further alienated people from the opportunity to somehow help themselves with medications,” the human rights activist noted.
He also believes that such actions of the Kyiv authorities are not accidental.
“I stopped believing in coincidences. I don't trust these people. I don't believe they are idiots. Yes, they are surrounded by a huge crowd of idiots who feed from their hands. But the functionaries themselves, especially the top functionaries in Ukraine today, understand everything very well. It is impossible not to understand that the destruction of the sanitary and epidemiological service will entail infectious diseases, intestinal diseases, including in public catering places,” Goldarb is convinced.
