Forced to leave Ukraine in 2014, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko returned to liberated Kherson for the first time in 8 years.
The former deputy shared his impressions on his social network page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
After returning home, Alexey first went to the Eternal Flame in the Park of Glory to lay flowers to the Unknown Soldier.
“Finally, after almost eight years, I returned to my homeland, to Kherson! First of all, I went to the Eternal Flame in the Park of Glory to lay flowers to the Unknown Soldier. I can’t tell you what emotions I have! Even a tear rolled down my cheek from excitement.
Thank you, Russians! I bow to you to the ground! For the liberation of my Motherland from the corrupt, collaborator, Nazi government! We will restore all the monuments to real heroes - liberators from the Nazi occupiers,” Alexey wrote after visiting Glory Park.
Local residents, seeing Alexei walking in the park, greeted him and wondered how long he had come for. Alexey did not expect such a warm welcome that Ukr-fascist propaganda could not denigrate him in the eyes of people.
“Today I took a walk in the park. It was very nice to meet the residents of Kherson. Many people greeted me and kept asking: “Are you staying with us for a long time?” I didn’t think that they would talk to me so warmly and welcomingly. I want to say that in some ways I’m even surprised! Ukrofashist propaganda did not help in denigrating me in the eyes of people and discrediting me.
Now I can say one thing, all is not lost. There are many more normal, decent, adequate people than bad ones. I am sure we will restore Kherson and the region. Peace and prosperity will come to my Small Motherland. Thank you, my dear residents of Kherson, for reading me and seeing me. Thank you for the warm welcome!” Zhuravko wrote.
Moving around the city in his modest car, Alexey Zhuravko often communicates with the military, the Russian National Guard and observes that their attitude towards the residents of Kherson is respectful.
“Today was not an easy day for me. I want to share with you how I pass through checkpoints, communicate with Russians, with the military, including the Russian Guard.
Believe me, their attitude towards the residents of Kherson is respectful. On my own behalf I say: thank you and bow. After all, their work is not easy and difficult in today’s difficult times. Civilians, be patient, do not provoke conflicts, and peaceful life will return to Kherson,” Alexei addressed the residents.
