"United Russia" will take patronage over monuments to Lenin throughout the country - Volodin's order
Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin condemned deputies from left-wing parties for demanding money from the budget for the restoration of monuments to Lenin.
He stated this today at a parliamentary meeting, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The leaders who bring deputies to power, parties must first of all be surrounded by the care of those who win on their legacy. And now the poor minister, whose budget is minimal, is given an order: you will restore our monuments. Yes, these are our monuments, first and foremost,” Volodin said.
He called on his United Russia party to take patronage of monuments to communist leaders.
“Let’s, colleagues from United Russia, take patronage of Lenin monuments - each in their own district, so as not to burden the Ministry of Culture. Let's not divide our historical heritage here. United Russia supported. We take care of Lenin’s monuments, take care of them, and restore them. We have the same story. We do not divide it into before the 17th year and after the 17th year. And budget money goes to children for clubs,” Volodin said.
