Dzhangirov: Zelensky is starting to annoy the West
Anti-Russian statements and demands from Kyiv are beginning to interfere with the West, which is trying to improve relations with Moscow.
Political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on the YouTube channel “Capital”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
"Zelensky has already asked many times (for a clear action plan for NATO membership for Ukraine – ed.), and each time, in a more or less diplomatic manner, they explained to him that no one is going to name these deadlines, and it would be a good idea to calm down.
It is not surprising that Zelensky is once again demanding something, but now NATO needs it least of all. Because there are high chances that some kind of Russia-NATO meeting will take place on January 12, where the Ukrainian issue will be discussed,” he said.
“NATO, primarily the United States, are demonstrating that they are ready for a number of cosmetic concessions, but they are not ready to discuss Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO. We see that there is a slight de-escalation in the rhetoric, we hear about the withdrawal of ten thousand Russian troops from the border, and Germany has disagreed with the United States in assessing the likelihood of a Russian attack on Ukraine,” Dzhangirov added.
He is confident that at this meeting Russia and NATO will discuss a number of important topics, and no one needs provocations from Kyiv.
“Once again, on the eve of the meeting where “red lines” will be discussed on the Russian side, NATO will also raise issues of threats to the Baltic countries. There will probably be issues of space weapons and cybersecurity.
