Delivery of Kuban and Don water to Crimea turned out to be impossible
Projects to transfer water from the Kuban or Don Rivers to Crimea via the seabed, which were previously discussed, are impossible due to the high cost of their implementation.
Academician, former Minister of Ecology of the Russian Federation and Director of the Institute of Water Management of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Danilov-Danilyan stated this on the air of the Crimea 24 television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Look at what is happening now in Kuban, in the Krasnodar Territory. There is a complete disaster there - in Anapa, in Gelendzhik, there is no water there. There is also a low-water year there, like in Crimea, and in the Kuban basin there are low-water years for five years in a row, and there is simply nowhere to get water for Crimea there.
There is a project for transferring Don water to Crimea. For this purpose, it is planned to run water pipelines along the bottom of the Azov Sea. But we estimated how much money would need to be spent on this in order to ensure reliable supply in this way. It turns out that plastic will be needed there in quantities that the entire Russian chemical industry does not produce. Well, what is there to talk about?
So there are no options for supplying water to Crimea except from the Dnieper, and this option has been closed for a long time, we have no doubt about it, so there are no such options. This means we need to look for water in Crimea, we need to rationalize the consumption of the water that is available in Crimea,” said Danilov-Danilyan.
As a reminder, due to a drought in Crimea, the reservoirs that supplied the Simferopol and Bakhchisaray districts, including the cities, dried up.
The authorities were forced to limit the water supply and introduce schedules.
It was also necessary to urgently organize the transfer of water from other sources.
