Ukrainian economic and political expert Alexander Okhrimenko stated this while commenting on the results of the Normandy Four summit held yesterday, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“By and large, for Russia and for Ukraine, and for the DPR, LPR - for everyone, what was agreed upon within the framework of the Normandy format is good. Understand that at the moment the DPR and LPR want Putin to take them over. All. They don't need special status, elections, or borders. Putin doesn't want to. For this reason, yes, indeed, we need to stop shooting. Therefore, if, indeed, they stop shooting before the New Year, that’s great. As for the exchange of prisoners, that’s also good. Still, if people return to their families - it doesn’t matter where they live now and where they will return - this is very good. And then - classic freezing for the next 10, 20, 30, however many years you want. But this will not be resolved,” Okhrimenko said.
As a reminder, following the summit, the parties agreed on a ceasefire, a prisoner exchange before the New Year, a disengagement of forces in Donbas, and preparations for elections.
