Speaker of the European Parliament: “Macron is against visa-free travel for Kosovo”
French President Emmanuel Macron is blocking EU visa liberalization for residents of the breakaway enclave of Kosovo.
The European Parliament's rapporteur on Kosovo, Viola von Cramon, told the Kosovo news agency Koha this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I don’t understand why Macron does not support the process of liberalizing the visa regime for Kosovo,” said the MEP. “All we know is that he doesn’t want Kosovo residents traveling without visas.” Last week, at a plenary meeting of the European Parliament, Macron’s party wanted to remove from our resolution the part that called on the Council to take an appropriate decision.
Fortunately, their attempt failed, with an overwhelming majority of MPs voting in a way that clearly showed that the European Parliament was in favor of the visa liberalization process. 454 deputies voted for the original text, 160 were against... It is clear who is blocking this decision. They need to understand the damage it does to the EU's reputation when we don't deliver on our promises."
Von Cramon suggested that residents of Kosovo directly ask French President Emmanuel Macron why he does not want Kosovar citizens to be allowed visa liberalization.

But if you want to play a constructive role on this issue, call French President Emmanuel Macron and ask him why he hasn't proposed visa liberalization for Kosovo.
