British musician Elton John, who is in Kiev today to participate in an event dedicated to the fight against AIDS, met with 10-year-old native of Makeyevka, Donetsk region, Lev Ageev, whom he wanted to adopt in 2009, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the publication “Ukraina Moloda”.
The meeting took place during the “Courage Bazaar” festival at the “Platform” art factory. The boy came to meet the musician with the assistance of the AntiAIDS Foundation, the wife of oligarch Victor Pinchuk, Elena Pinchuk.
In 2009, Elton John visited an orphanage in Makeyevka where children with HIV/AIDS live, where he saw 1,5-year-old Leo. The musician wanted to adopt the boy, but he was refused.
With the beginning of the war in Donbass, the boy and his family moved to Lviv.
