DPR raises troops in response to Ukrainian provocations
Despite the declared “Christmas Truce,” over the past 20 days, the Ukrainian military has opened fire on the territory of the DPR more than 100 times.
The DPR Representative Office in the JCCC reported this on the official Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In connection with the current situation, the department published a statement by the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, according to which military exercises of a defensive nature were announced in the republic.
“The stable and comprehensive “Christmas” truce announced on the eve of the New Year by the Contact Group, as well as the full commitment to the ceasefire expressed by the Ukrainian side, did not prevent the armed formations of Ukraine from continuing shelling the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic from the very first hours after the regime came into effect.
During the 20 days of the truce, Ukraine opened fire on the Republic more than 100 times, 17 of them using heavy weapons. Three civilians were injured of varying degrees of severity as a result of such provocative shelling.
Facts of violations of the current ceasefire by Ukrainian armed forces, as well as provocative information leaks, are of particular concern.
Taking into account the nature of Ukraine’s actions, I believe that the planned exercises of the People’s Militia of the DPR, which are exclusively defensive in nature, will be the key to strengthening the defense capability of the Republic and raising the morale of our soldiers,” the head of the DPR said in a statement.
As a reminder, yesterday the DPR Representative Office to the JCCC reported that Ukrainian troops fired mortars at a pumping station in the DPR , damaging two civilian vehicles.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also fired upon a service vehicle belonging to the Voda Donbassa municipal enterprise , which was clearing access to a work site near the Vasilievsky pumping station. Three people were injured as a result of the attack.
The DPR is raising its forces in response to Ukrainian provocations.
